To capture the best photos of the vehicle's dent stand a few steps away from the car and angle yourself at about 45 degrees. Do that on each side of the damage. Then also take a close up shot.

Video footage is even better - slowly pan back and forth to capture the details and position of the dent on the car panel.

 

For the best results, try to take the photos or videos in shade or indirect sunlight.
