FAQ

WHAT IS PAINTLESS DENT REMOVAL?

Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) is a method of removing dings, dents and creases from a car's bodywork without using any body filler or paint.

The most common PDR techniques utilise metal rods and bars to push out the dents from the underside of the body panel. Glue and specially designed tabs may be used to pull out the dents from the outside of the panel when access to the back of the dent is restricted.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PDR?

Cost. Repairing a body panel with PDR costs a fraction of what a body shop would charge to repair the same damage.

Time. Most repairs can be done while you wait. Even severe damage can be repaired in hours instead of the days it would take a body shop.

Convenience. PDR can be carried out at your home or work place.

Factory finish. Because no paint or filler is used your car will maintain the finish it rolled out of the factory with.

Value. A dent free vehicle with its original paintwork intact has a higher re-sell value than a damaged or re-painted vehicle.

Lease Returns. Lease companies inspect vehicles when they are returned and can charge body shop prices for damage you could have had repaired for a fraction of the cost with PDR.

WHAT TYPE OF DAMAGE CAN BE REPAIRED WITH PDR?

Traditionally PDR is used to repair small dings and dents - the type of things your car picks up in a carpark - but as PDR tools and techniques improve and the paint that vehicle manufacturers use gets more and more resilient much more has become possible. If you're uncertain then just send a couple of pictures. Quote are always free and without obligation.

That said, PDR is not suitable for major collision damage.

IS IT TRUE THAT A DENT ON OR AROUND A BODY LINE CAN'T BE REPAIRED WITH PDR?

No. That's not true at all. While dents across body lines can be tougher to repair they are almost never impossible

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Prices start at £65 per panel for minor damage. Larger dents start at £80 per panel. Discounts are available for multiple panels and/or cars.
